Author Guidelines

Manuscript Submission

All manuscripts must be submitted online through our submission system. Authors must register for an account before submitting. The corresponding author will receive email notifications throughout the review process.

Manuscript Types

We accept the following types of submissions:

  • Original Research Articles (up to 6,000 words) - Full-length reports of original research
  • Review Articles (up to 8,000 words) - Comprehensive reviews of specific topics
  • Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (up to 8,000 words) - Following PRISMA guidelines
  • Clinical Case Reports (up to 3,000 words) - Novel or instructive clinical cases
  • Short Communications (up to 2,500 words) - Brief reports of significant findings
  • Letters to the Editor (up to 1,000 words) - Comments on published articles or brief observations

Manuscript Preparation

General Format

  • Language: English (British or American spelling, consistently applied)
  • File format: Microsoft Word (.docx) or LaTeX
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point
  • Line spacing: Double-spaced throughout
  • Margins: 2.5 cm (1 inch) on all sides
  • Page numbers: Consecutive, starting from title page
  • Line numbers: Continuous line numbering for review purposes

Manuscript Structure

Research articles should include the following sections in order:

  1. Title Page
    • Concise, descriptive title (maximum 150 characters)
    • Short running title (maximum 50 characters)
    • Full names and affiliations of all authors
    • Corresponding author details (email, phone, postal address)
    • ORCID iDs for all authors (strongly recommended)
    • Word count (excluding abstract, references, tables, and figures)
  2. Abstract (250-300 words)
    • Structured: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusions
    • No references or abbreviations (except standard units)
    • 3-6 keywords below the abstract
  3. Introduction - Background, rationale, and objectives
  4. Materials and Methods - Detailed methodology, statistical analysis
  5. Results - Clear presentation of findings
  6. Discussion - Interpretation, implications, limitations
  7. Conclusions - Main findings and significance
  8. Acknowledgments - Funding sources, technical assistance
  9. Conflicts of Interest - All potential conflicts must be disclosed
  10. References - Following the specified reference style
  11. Tables - Each on a separate page with title and legend
  12. Figure Legends - Descriptions of all figures

References

References should follow the Vancouver style (NLM/PubMed format):

  • Number citations consecutively in order of appearance in the text
  • Use Arabic numerals in square brackets [1], [2-5]
  • List all authors up to 6; if more than 6, list first 6 followed by "et al."
  • Journal abbreviations should follow Index Medicus
  • Include DOI when available

Tables and Figures

Tables

  • Number consecutively in order of citation (Table 1, Table 2, etc.)
  • Provide a concise title above each table
  • Include footnotes for abbreviations and statistical significance
  • Submit as editable format (Word or Excel), not as images

Figures

  • High-resolution images (minimum 300 dpi)
  • Formats: TIFF, EPS, or high-quality JPEG
  • Number consecutively (Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.)
  • Provide figure legends separately in the manuscript
  • Ensure images are properly anonymized (remove patient identifiers)

Ethical Considerations

Human Subjects Research

  • Ethics committee/IRB approval required
  • Include approval number and date in Methods section
  • Informed consent must be obtained from all participants
  • Follow Declaration of Helsinki principles

Animal Research

  • Ethics committee approval required
  • Follow ARRIVE guidelines for reporting
  • State compliance with institutional and national regulations

Clinical Trials

  • Must be registered in a recognized trial registry (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov)
  • Include trial registration number in abstract
  • Follow CONSORT guidelines for reporting

Authorship Criteria

All authors must meet the ICMJE criteria for authorship:

  1. Substantial contributions to conception, design, acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data
  2. Drafting the article or revising it critically for important intellectual content
  3. Final approval of the version to be published
  4. Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work

Required Documents

The following documents must be uploaded during submission:

  • Cover Letter - Addressing the editor, explaining significance
  • Title Page - With all author information
  • Manuscript File - Without author information (for blind review)
  • Figures and Tables - As separate files
  • Supplementary Materials - If applicable
  • Copyright Transfer Agreement - Signed by all authors
  • Conflicts of Interest Statement - Signed by all authors
  • Ethics Approval Letter - If applicable

Editorial Process Timeline

  • Initial editorial decision: 7-10 days
  • Peer review: 3-4 weeks
  • Author revisions: 2-4 weeks (depending on extent of revisions)
  • Final decision: 5-7 days after revision submission
  • Publication: Immediate online publication upon acceptance
